Specializing in capturing the energy, enthusiasm and comraderie of athletics.
Whether photographing athletes brand new to the sport, experienced high school or elite college athletes, I love to be on the sidelines photographing the action.
My focus is on capturing not only the explosive action, but also the atmosphere and energy, the cheers as well as the dejection that are a part of this sport. I am also always on the lookout for things unique to each athlete — a repeated gesture, an on field habit, a routine with a teammate, etc..
From the darkest highschool gyms to the brightest arenas, I am comfortable photographing. I've invested in the skills in the equipment necessary to allow me to photograph
in any venue and produce the highest quality product available.
With each image I take and prepare for my customers, it's always my goal to create images that I would be happy to hang on my studio walls.
To that end, each finished print receives any adjustments needed for exposure, color and cropping, as well as selective tonal adjustments such
as dodging and burning (this helps those distracting backgrounds recede a bit).
Another unusual aspect about our process — at least for photographers taking many, many thousands of images per year — is that we always start from the highest quality possible :
the RAW image output from the camera. All adjustments are performed as lossless/non-destructive edits in professional RAW processing software. This comes with massive
storage and processing requirements, but allows us to deliver a much higher quality product than would otherwise be possible.
Photography that encompass still images and video!
For years, I've been asked if we provide video services, but I've always been a photographer that specialized in still images. Capturing a full match video uses very different equipment and a completely different approach compared to photographing individual peak action moments in a match.
However, I am now able to offer a specialty coverage that provides both stills and video from the same set of images.
This coverage will be photographed the same way coverages normally are — with focus on each touch/action as individual moments to be captured. Each moment will be composed, tracked and photographed individually. However, these moments will be captured at 120 frames per second! From this, 5x slow motion video clips of each moment are created, as well as provide individual images which can be shared and printed.
If you like what you see (great!) and are wondering how to arrange photography, you can sign up online. My schedule is highly variable and I work on individual commission (meaning I work for a specific families, teams or oganizations).
If you are a parent who would light to sign up for photos, you can do that via the Sign up button below.
If you are organizing a tournament and are interested in having me out to photograph, that is also something I am happy to do. Please get in touch so that we can discuss exactly what role you would like me to play in your tournament.
